I live around the corner from Golden China and I can actually say that, for a small American Chinese delivery restaurant, they are pretty good. What you need to know: 1. I have ordered from this place many, many, many times since late 2014. 2. They are FAST. Especially if you pick up. 3. They are actually incredibly friendly. Especially the woman who works the counter. Bad food: 1. Crab Rangoon (it's just awful). 2. The mumbo sauce. Good food: 1. Crispy beef 2. Fried chicken anything. (Kind of salty, but good). 3. Szechuan chicken. Remember this place is exactly what you expect. It's not gourmet food. It's decent Chinese take-out. It's fast. They're polite. They're cleaner than MANY places like them that I have seen. And did I mention that they're fast? (An average of 15 minutes from call to my doorstep)

My family and I have gone to this Chinese take out since we have moved here back in 2002. If my parents did not have anything to cook and we were hungry, then we would call the place up and our food is usually done in 15-20 minutes. Their fried chicken wings are good, they are hot and crispy. It was from this place where I was introduced to egg fu young & the drunken noodle dish. However, their dishes are quite salty, oily, and sometimes the vegetables are still hard. In addition, for their beef fried rice, sometimes the beef is not that cooked. But if you need something quick & are craving Chinese this can be a place to hit up if you are nearby.

Friendly staff, quick service and average food. We order about once a month. My favorite is the wonton/egg drop mix soup. My boys love the beef & broccoli and chicken wings.

Ive tried the food here on 3 different occasions. Each time I ordered General tso chicken or Orange chicken, both with only white meat & with brown rice. Each time the chicken was mostly fried up scraps with no sign of any white meat, it was always very bristle-y and mostly fried filler with no discernible chicken meat. The brown rice was always very mushy and resembled white sticky rice that had been overcooked. The red chili hot oil had a rancid taste the last time I ate from here. I wouldn't waste my time here.

I found a fly in my food, coated in orange sauce. I then asked where it was from and was told it was this restaurant. No surprise.

I live close by this place and have tried a few different Chinese places in the area. This is by far the best Chinese in the area. We usually order the Singapore noodles and moo shu pork. Both very good. The woman who answers the phone is great and always gives us ample sauces and fortune cookies!

We tried carry out from this restaurant when our favorite in Burtonsville closed. (We used to drive there from Silver Spring because we liked it so much). We were disappointed with the dishes we tried: moo shu chicken, kung pao tofu, veggie fried rice, and orange chicken. The food was flavorless for the most part, and the majority of the vegetables in the kung pao were diced broccoli stems. We won't go back.

Golden China is the bomb. I've been getting my chinese food here for the past 10+ years and now that I've moved out of state I still stop back in when I'm around. Some things have changed since the good old days. The egg, steak and cheese has been removed from the menu - leaving only the steak and cheese. not that thats bad actually the steak and cheese is quite delicious. my gf prefers it over the one that we got at Tony Luke's in Philly. But back to the missing egg - its just you know, i miss adding that extra bit of yum in there with the fried egg. Chicken wings are the bomb. It is my normal order. Big ass wings served with Mambo sauce. Good mambo sauce, large servings of fries. Delicious. Fried jumbo shrimp - well not as jumbo as Cook St. Restaurant in Brooklyn but decent sized. Egg foo yung here is what got me into egg foo yung. Anyways, this is what got me into "dirty" chinese food. Come here, get the wings or the steak and cheese. It's a value and you won't be disappointed.

I ordered Hunan beef, two spring rolls and a ginger ale. Nothing complicated for a Chinese restaurant to prepare right?!? They are located maybe a mile and a 1/2 from where I live but the food took 45 min to get to my front door. I have tried so many Chinese carry out/restaurants so I know good food when I see it! This was the WORST Hunan beef I have ever tried ... The broccoli was old and had a rubbery texture, the beef was tuff and stale tasting. The food had an old smell like it had been sitting out in the sun. If I could give this rating 0 starts I would have. Never will I order from Golden China again! I will stick with Schezhuan #1.

Have ordered from this restaurant numerous times and have liked the food in the past. This last time the beef fried rice looked strange and tasted off and the General Tsos chicken was mushy and soupy. Called the restaurant and asked them to redo these two items. They refused and didn't want to refund my money either. Given this experience will probably not order there again.

One of the better hot and sour soups in the area. Good chicken wings from what I remember (try to stay away from fried Chinese food.. Adds more guilt) dingy feeling but most Chinese places give you that feeling.

Their Chinese food may not the greatest. But what do you expect from a small place like that. I will tell you their chicken wings with mumbo sauce is the bomb and If you like greasy overstuffed subs try their steak and cheese with everything on it. Also their homemade ice tea is like liquid crack.

Just your typical take-out cheap Chinese place with the usual lunch specials of ginormous portions. Delivery available and reliable even with large orders. They only take one credit card per order so have cash on hand if you're splitting your order with a large group. Can't vouch for the eat-in options though I'm not sure I need to.

I was in a hotel with my girlfriend. And we needed to eat something. Mcdonalds and Friendlys right across the street, but definitely dont like either of them. So we checked around to see what places delivered. Golden China came up first. So I ordered a general tso chicken and my girl ordered a combo lomein. We got the food in less than 30 minutes which in my opinion, was very good. I tried out the chicken, and it definitely had a distinct flavor. Not the usual chicken you get anywhere else. But ofcourse it still had lots of batter and not much actual chicken, but the flavor..... It tasted like it was fresh off a charcoal grill. Which I actually kinda liked. We both had some lomein, and it was typical. Kinda greasy, not much flavor. In my experience, it wasnt bad. I liked my dish. But I only tried out 2 dishes from their extensive menu. So maybe you might experience better or worse? Should give this place a try tho.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
